5. ADVERTISING
Free-tier users may see banner advertisements powered by Google AdMob during gameplay. These ads use advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), IP address, and ad interaction data to serve relevant content. Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements.
You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track" (or revoke for TrendTrivia specifically)
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
- Google account-wide: https://www.google.com/settings/ads
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we present a Google-certified consent message before serving personalized advertising, in compliance with the EU User Consent Policy and the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework v2.2.
For users in California and other US states with applicable privacy laws, we present an opt-out message that allows you to decline the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising purposes.
Do Not Track. Some browsers and devices offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting DNT signals, we do not currently respond to them. You can control personalized advertising using the device and account controls described above.
6. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
Your data is stored securely on Supabase's cloud infrastructure with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access their own data. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Data location: Our backend infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.
International data transfers (EEA/UK users): Where personal data of users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland is transferred to the United States, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the legal mechanism for the transfer, supplemented by the technical and organizational measures of our subprocessors (Supabase, RevenueCat, Google).
7. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the App's services and to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy:
- Active accounts: Account and gameplay data is retained for as long as your account is active
- Inactive accounts: If you have not used the App for 24 consecutive months, we may delete or anonymize your account data
- Account deletion requests: Upon a verified deletion request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain information (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes — typically 7 years)
- Aggregated / anonymized data: May be retained indefinitely for analytics and product improvement, as it no longer identifies you
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at support@trendtrivia.com.
8. DATA SHARING
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data in the following circumstances:
- Public gameplay data: Your username, avatar, level, and scores are visible to other users on the leaderboard and in friend challenges
